GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Under general direction, the position supervises and manages the City’s maintenance and department related activities. Employees in this classification perform supervisory and managerial work. Position is responsible for managing and performing maintenance activities for street and roads, public facilities, medians/landscaping, custodial/janitorial, and stormwater. Performs related work as directed.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED; minimum five (5) years progressively more responsible previous experience and/or training that includes municipal/ public works maintenance and 60 college credit hours; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Bachelor’s degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
Special Requirements :
Valid State of Florida Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class “B”
Current certification in at least three (3) of the following certifications or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire. Must obtain all five (5) within two (2) years of hire:
• Confined space entry
• Trenching and Shoring
• Traffic Control Management/Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) : Advanced
• CPR/First Aid
• Right-of-Way or Ornamental and Turf Licenses
