2017 International Night Cricket T20 Tournament
15th Anniversary Celebration
City of Lauderhill T20 Night Cricket Tournament - 15 Not Out!
Lauderhill, FL - The long standing T20 Night Cricket tradition continues for the 15th year in the Cricket Capital of the United States of America-City of Lauderhill starting this Saturday, February 25, 2017. Under the auspices of City of Lauderhill Mayor Richard J. Kaplan and Broward County Commissioner Dale V. C. Holness, six teams representing Combined Islands, Guyana, India, Jamaica, Pakistan and Trinidad & Tobago will compete for the 2017 Championship Trophy.
Through the endorsement of the South Florida Cricket Alliance and Florida Southeast Cricket League, the City of Lauderhill Int’l T20 Night Cricket Tournament has achieved the reputation as one of America’s largest and most-popular night cricket tournaments.
The traditional tournament All-Star game will commence at 5 pm featuring the North Invitational Youth XI against South Invitational Youth XI. The first game of the tournament starts at 8:00pm with a clash of last year's semi-finalists Jamaica and Guyana. Jamaica will be seeking to reverse the results from last year after persistent heavy showers left the Lauderhill Sports Park outfield in unplayable condition. The match was declared abandoned and Guyana advanced to the finals due to a better net run rate. Jamaica will be captained by Steven Taylor who recently returned from representing the Jamaica Scorpions in the just concluded West Indies Regional Super50 Tournament.
This year's tournament is sponsored by Worldwide Sports Management Group, Bedessee Sporting Goods, Laparkan Global Freight & Logistics Solutions, CNW Network, Westway Towing, S&J Event Rental Company, Caribbean Village, Wood Haven Interiors and Peppa Seed Jamaican Restaurant. Every Saturday night for the next ten weeks promises to be great cricket, food, music, prizes, surprises and fun for the whole family. Saturday, March 4, 2017 starts at 5pm with Combined Islands v. India follow by Guyana v. Trinidad & Tobago at 8pm. All matches are played at the Lauderhill Sports Park – 7500 W. Oakland Park Blvd, Lauderhill.
