Semi Annual Free Chlorination
What: Broward County Water and Wastewater Services will temporarily return to using free chlorination in its drinking water system. A switch to free chlorination is a common practice for water systems using combined chlorine disinfection in an effort to ensure the integrity of the distribution system. This chlorination period is anticipated to be transparent; however, there may be a slight change in the taste or odor of the tap water.
When: This preventive maintenance procedure will begin at 8:00 AM on 08/09/17 and last for approximately one month.
Who: This procedure will affect customers who pay a water bill to Broward County Water and Wastewater Services in the areas depicted in the attached maps.

Customers who receive a utility bill from other municipalities or entities and have concerns should call their respective water providers customer service number.
