Vice Mayor Ken Thurston started the Green Series the very first year he was elected by the residents of Lauderhill. Since then he has worked with Waste Pro, the City’s recycling provider, to help underwrite the costs associated with the series.

The Green Series includes classes that help residents with planting gardens, maintaining lawns, growing lawns, plants and trees, selecting edible gardens for your home/condo, and general irrigation techniques.

All classes are located in the Multi-Purpose Rooms at City Hall, 5581 West Oakland Park Boulevard, 33313.

Vice Mayor Thurston explained, “Years ago, many of us lost our trees to a citrus canker epidemic. In an effort to replenish, we will continue to give away citrus trees at each and every class. I love to see people growing their own fruits again.  Tangerines, grapefruits and lemons are just some of what we give away at the Green Series classes.”

For additional information or to RSVP for a class, please call Lexie at 954-777-2040 or email herSeats are provided on a first come, first serve basis.
