The Following is a list of items you
will need to apply for an Owner Builder Permit

Complete Building Permit
Application

Complete job address
with legal description
(Lot, Block, Sub-Division, Folio Number)

Tax I.D. number
(can be found on tax bill)

Plans
(Subject to approval
by Plans Examiner)

Two Complete Sets of
Drawings
If the job value is over
$5,000.00, Architectural/Engineered Sealed Drawings will
be required. There are other exceptions that require
engineered drawings, such as pools, and enclosures.

D.P.E.P. Stamp
Plans must have a stamp
from the Broward County Department of Planning &
Environmental Protection. -

Survey
(A survey is needed for any
construction outside where any extension/addition to an
existing building is made.)

Engineering Permit
(An engineering permit is
required for all driveways.)

as settlement statement of closing paper)

Valid Drivers License : (
for identification and notary )

Product Approvals: Product
approvals are detailed descriptions of items such as
windows, doors and the like that you would be
installing. The Product Approvals show that product that
you plan to install has met or exceeded the requirements
set forth in the Florida Building Code. The tests are
mainly concerned with the ability of a product to
withstand wind forces. A “Statement of Responsibilities
Regarding Asbestos form must also be completed on all
roofing applications.

Notice of Commencement :
(Job value greater than $2500.00 only) A notice of
commencement is a required legal document that may be
obtained at the Broward County Governmental Center, 115
South Andrews Ave, Ft Lauderdale, FL 33301, Phone

FEES
A processing fee starting at $25.00 is due at the time of
submittal. The processing fees vary by size and value of the
job. See Lauderhill City Code of Ordinances for the fee
schedule.
Permit fees vary with the type of permit, size of building,
and other variables and are due at the time the permit is
issued.
