The Lauderhill Sister Cities International (LSCI) organized a Business and Cultural Exchange Trip to Falmouth, Trelawney, Jamaica from April 29 – May 2, 2009. A delegation consisting of Lauderhill business owners and City Officials participated in this venture to build trade and business between Falmouth and Lauderhill. The Mayor of Falmouth, Colin Gager, described the recent visit to the Parish of Trelawny as an overwhelming success. "It was very, very fruitful and I am confident that the trip has been mutually beneficial to all," Mayor Gager told the Jamaica Observer. LSCI’s upcoming trips include a partnership with The Arts Office Net Inc. to their annual TAO em Brasil exhibition at the Francisco Carlos Moriconi Cultural and Education Center in sister city Suzano, Brazil from August 17th-21st and a Trade Mission in October 2009. The purpose of the LSCI is to promote the exchange of commerce, culture, education and charity. The Write Side Poets is a non-profit organization designed to gather, inspire, assist, and encourage young writers (ages 13 to 24 years old) to speak their own messages through the powerful medium of speech.
