NEWS FROM VICE MAYOR HOLNESS

The Lauderhill Sister Cities International (LSCI) organized a Business
and Cultural Exchange Trip to Falmouth, Trelawney, Jamaica from April 29
– May 2, 2009. A delegation consisting of Lauderhill business owners and
City Officials participated in this venture to build trade and business
between Falmouth and Lauderhill. The Mayor of Falmouth, Colin Gager,
described the recent visit to the Parish of Trelawny as an overwhelming
success. "It was very, very fruitful and I am confident that the trip
has been mutually beneficial to all," Mayor Gager told the Jamaica
Observer. LSCI’s upcoming trips include a partnership with The Arts
Office Net Inc. to their annual TAO em Brasil exhibition at the
Francisco Carlos Moriconi Cultural and Education Center in sister city
Suzano, Brazil from August 17th-21st and a Trade Mission in October
2009. The purpose of the LSCI is to promote the exchange of commerce,
culture, education and charity. For more information on LSCI and to find
out how you can become a member, log onto www.lauderhillcra.com.
LSCI has joined forces with the Lauderhill Chamber of Commerce (LCC) to
aide in the revitalization of the Lauderhill Business Community. Local
Lauderhill business owners are encouraged to join these two
organizations to learn how to strengthen and further develop their
businesses during these times of economic hardship. Come join us for the
next LCC Monthly Breakfast Meeting at the Inverrary Hotel and Resort to
network with the Board Members and other business owners. For more
information, contact the Lauderhill Chamber of Commerce at 954-318-6118.
