### FAQS ###
1. When does
new garbage collection service start?
The new service will begin on July 1, 2011.
2. When will I receive my new 96-gallon garbage container?
The new 96-gallon containers will be delivered between June
15 – June 28, 2011 by All Service Refuse. They will be placed on
the side of your home. The cans cannot be used for the disposal
of garbage until July 1, 2011.
3. What should I do with my old 96-gallon container?
Before July 1, 2011 or shortly thereafter, Waste Management
will pick up your old 96-gallon cart from your yard. On your
last collection day before July 1, 2011, they will dispose of
your garbage and remove your old 96 gallon cart.
4. Where do I place my new 96-gallon container for
collection?
After 6pm, the night before your collection day, you may
place your garbage cart out for service. The carts should be
placed on the swale, not on the street. The swale area is the
grassy area of your yard adjacent to the road. The cart lid
opening should face the road so that it can be easily dumped in
the garbage truck.
5. What time do they pick-up my 96-gallon container?
Anytime between 7am to 7pm on your garbage collection day.
Please make sure your garbage cart is on the swale before 7am to
ensure your garbage is collected.
6. May I have more than one garbage container?
No, we will not issue additional containers. Only (1)
garbage can will be emptied by All Service. Additional trash
bags that are placed next to the 96-gallon container will NOT be
collected by All Service.
7. What should I do with my 96-gallon container after the
garbage as been collected?
After collection, garbage carts must be removed from the swale
by midnight on the day of collection. They should be stored on
the side of your home, backyard or placed in your garage.
8. Will the new garbage service affect recycling?
No, recycling pick-up days will remain the same. Please continue
to use your current recycling container for collection.
9. When and how do I put out my bulk trash?
After 6pm, the night before your collection day, you may place
your bulk trash out for collection. You must cut and bundle tree
trimmings, branches, palm fronds and other yard debris. Bundles
must not exceed 5 feet and weigh no more than 50 pounds. Please
roll and securely tie all rugs, carpets, padding and fencing.
10. If I live in a condominium/multi-family unit with
dumpster service, how will I dispose of my trash?
The association will receive a new dumpster, but the disposal of
trash will operate in the same manner that you used before July
1, 2011.
11. Will my condominium receive bulk trash collection days?
Yes, you will receive two bulk pickup days from July 2011 to
December 2011. The dates are August 10th and December 28th,
2011. Beginning January 2012, condominiums with dumpster service
will receive four (4) bulk trash collection days. Contact your
association or management office for the details on when and how
you should place your bulk trash out for collection.
12. When do residents pay their garbage bills?
Single-Family Homes — Your garbage bill will appear on your
City of Lauderhill monthly utility (water) bill. If you
previously paid your garbage bill with your property tax bill,
your 2012 tax bill will be adjusted to reflect the cost savings.
Condominiums — If you are a condominium association that
receives a utility bill from the City of Lauderhill, you will
now receive the garbage bill on your monthly utility bill.
Commercial Customers — All Service will mail your garbage bill
directly to you.
