The Torpedoes youth swim team program caters to children 5 years old and up who are interested in learning and competing in the sport of swimming. They practice at the
Veterans Park Pool and The Lauderhill Aquatic Center at John Mullin Park.
This program focuses on academics and athletics while competing against local and regional competition. All participants must maintain good grades and positive behavior in the classroom and in the pool. Participants who do well in the classroom and in the pool are eligible for scholarships through the City of Lauderhill's Sports Advancing Kids Education program.

Effective May 1, 2017 the City of Lauderhill Community Bus Route #6 & #7 Timetable Schedule will change slightly with an additional stop added for your convenience.
2017 Family Safety Day
The City of Lauderhill’s Police Department, Fire Department and Parks and Leisure Services Department are partnering together to provide a one day fun event for the entire family. The event will promote our Watch Out Now Program that the City is initiating to prevent accidental deaths and injury to children under the ages of 4 due to drowning, sleep accidents, and car accidents. The day will provide a bunch of interactive activities for the entire family, raffle give-a-ways, and many educational activities designed to educate families on water safety, car safety, and crib safety.

Back by popular demand, the second annual Jett Wilson & Friends Comedy Show – headlined by comedian, Lil Duval; hosted by local comedian and rising Broward County star, Jett Wilson; and, starring Wilson’s celebrity friends as headliners – is a comedy show that brings the community together with lots of fun and laughter.
Lil Duval (born Roland Powell) is an American stand-up comedian who was a semifinalist on BET’s comedy competition series, Coming to the Stage. He is a series regular on the MTV2 shows, “Guy Code” and “Hip Hop Squares”; and, he also hosts the viral video show, “Ain’t That America” on MTV2.
Lauderhill Firefighters Surprise Expectant Mom With New Home After Blaze
It was one of the worst days in Nicola Taylor’s life. At eight months pregnant, an electrical problem caused her apartment to catch on fire, leaving her and her family with only a hotel room to call home. That’s all changed as Lauderhill Fire Rescue threw a surprise baby shower for Nicola and her family, gifting her with everything a baby could need, including a new place to call home.
