The City of Lauderhill utilizes the CodeRED Emergency Notification System. This communication service can be used for Emergency and General Notifications via phone call, text message, e-mail and via a smartphone application. All businesses and residents should register with the City's CodeRED system to ensure they can receive important and timely information.

How We Use Code Red

The system allows us to send communications to all or targeted areas within the City in case an emergency situation requires immediate action. The system delivers a recorded message describing the situation and any instructions for immediate or future action. It is precise enough to geo-target residents within an exact area of impact, so that only those people who are affected by an emergency situation are notified.

Types of important messages could include information about inclement weather, evacuation notices, missing persons, police and fire incidents, and other emergency events. The City will also send out General Notifications to provide updates on activities, special events, and other pertinent information for businesses and residents who opt in for those messages.

Identifying and Receiving the Calls/Messages

The Caller ID will display a number of 866-419-5000 for Emergency Notifications and 855-969-4636 for General Notifications. If you miss the call, the system will leave a message. If you don't have an answering machine or voicemail, the system will attempt to call again after several minutes. You can also call the number back to hear the most recent message.
