The Lauderhill Police Explorers program is open to young men and women between the ages of 14 and 20. Lauderhill Post #200 has been chartered since June 2001.

The program is designed for youth who share an interest in Law Enforcement. The Lauderhill Police Department provides an educational law enforcement training environment for the explorers. Our Explorers experience ride alongs, and quality training during the year and summer months.

Lauderhill Post #200 has had several students go on to pursue careers in Law Enforcement or proceed to college seeking a career in the Criminal Justice System.

Many of our explorers have attended colleges such as, Florida A&M University, Ed Waters College, Broward Community College, and/or entered the Armed Forces.

The Explorers Program provides available scholarships through Learning for Life, the National Youth Office for Exploring Programs.

To enroll in our program explorers must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or greater, and participate in general meetings, which are held twice a month. Each cadet must take a written and physical agility test, as an entry into the program. Each cadet must attend the summer training course which can be used as community service hours towards high school graduation.
