FDOT Broward County Project Updates & Traffic Impact Report

The Florida Department of Transportation is working on various projects in the City of Lauderhill. Construction and maintenance-related lane closures may occur due to these improvements to certain areas in Lauderhill. As a courtesy to Lauderhill residents, the City is sharing the information below on current FDOT projects in our City. Updates below are current through September 23, 2022 per FDOT.


SR 842/Broward Boulevard Resurfacing Project in Plantation, Fort Lauderdale and Lauderhill

Description: Project improvements include upgrading pedestrian signals at all signalized intersections within the project limits, installing 39 light poles and upgrading existing lighting with LED fixtures between US 441/SR 7 and W 27th Avenue, removing decorative paver crosswalks, extending median left turn lanes to increase vehicle capacity at various locations, milling and resurfacing the roadway, and upgrading signing and pavement markings. Cost/Completion: $7,262,972 / early 2024

Traffic Impact:

  • Broward Boulevard from west of NW 42nd Avenue to SW 22nd Avenue will have one lane closed intermittently in each direction as needed, 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., and up to two lanes nightly as needed, 8:30 p.m. until 7 a.m., Monday through Friday.


West Oakland Park Boulevard State Road (SR) 817/University Drive Lighting Improvements Project in Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Plantation, Lauderhill, Tamarac, Cooper City and Davie

Description: Project improvements include upgrading existing lighting to LED fixtures throughout the project corridors from Senator Howard C. Forman Drive to NW 82nd Street. Within the cities of Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Plantation, Lauderhill, Tamarac, Cooper City, and the Town of Davie. Cost/Construction Start: $555,555 / Late Summer 2024

Traffic Impact:

  • SR 817/University Drive from NW 82nd Street to Senator Howard C Forman Drive, may have one lane intermittently closed nightly as needed, 7 p.m. until 7 a.m., for light poles installation.
  • SR 817/University Drive from NW 82nd Street to Senator Howard C Forman Drive, may have one lane intermittently closed daily as needed, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., for light poles installation.


Westbound and Eastbound Northwest 41 Street at the intersection of Northbound North State Road 7, in Lauderhill, 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, Monday, May 08 extended through Wednesday, Jul. 31, 1 of 2 lanes closed, for
