To support small businesses financially impacted by COVID-19, the City of Lauderhill has committed $1,000,000 from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 funds for eligible small businesses. City of Lauderhill businesses can receive up to a $10,000 Grant for eligible small, independently-owned businesses in Lauderhill.
Program Goals
To support small businesses in the City of Lauderhill that are experiencing significant negative financial impact due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This program is designed to help mitigate challenges for Lauderhill’s most vulnerable businesses, utilizing eligibility criteria as outlined by the reporting guidelines for State and Local recovery funds.
Who the Program is For
Eligible Businesses
Our priority is to assist small businesses that sell products and services to their customers face-to-face.
Must have demonstrated losses due to COVID-19
- Business must have 15 or fewer employees, including owner(s).
- Business must be located in Lauderhill city limits.
- Business must have experienced loss of income due to COVID-19.
- Business must have been in operation in Lauderhill prior to March 1, 2021.
- To apply Business must have a valid City of Lauderhill Certificate of Use.
Ineligible Businesses
- Businesses that received assistance from the Payroll Protection Program Draw 1 and/or Draw 2.
- National Franchises or chains, home-based, and businesses that are restricted to patrons over the age of 18.
Program Benefits
Eligible businesses that submit their completed application within the application submission window will receive up to a $10,000 grant.
Program Services
Eligible Uses (Per 31 Code of Federal Regulation Part 35 Department of Treasury’s Interim Final Rule) :
State and local recovery funds may provide assistance to small businesses to adopt safer operating procedures, weather periods of closure, or mitigate financial hardship resulting from the Covid-19 public health emergency. The City of Lauderhill will provide funds for the following Covid-19 related expenses:
Grants that provide funds for:
- Payroll and benefits costs
- Costs to retain employees
- Mortgage
- Rents
- Utilities
Low interest loans for Covid-19 prevention or mitigation tactics such as:
- Physical layout changes to enable social distancing.
- Enhanced cleaning efforts.
- Barriers or partitions.
- Technical assistance, counseling, or other services to assist with business planning needs.

After You Apply
After your application is submitted, it will be sent to the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Grant Committee, at which point you will be contacted by the Economic Development Division and provided further instructions.
