Program Description
The Lauderhill Shines Program is an online self-paced capacity development course intended to assist existing or start up businesses in Lauderhill. Shines consists of 4 modules. 

The four modules include:

  • Doing Business in Lauderhill – Meet all of your City's Elected officials and see how they plan to help your business level up. Code enforcement officials and Directors will share the do's and don’ts when operating in the City.
  • Laying a Strong Foundation – This module is packed with topics on how to procure capital to grow your business, how to write and negotiate contracts, suggestions on bookkeeping and basics on human resource concepts.
  • Getting Customers – Marketing, social media and networking are all key elements to gaining exposure to new customers, sharing your product/service, and making the sale.
  • Scaling Your Business – Attaining certifications and acquiring Federal, State, and City contracts is covered in depth in this module taught by government employees who know!

Who the Program is For
The online self-paced course has shown beneficial to both start up and an existing businesses. This is for Lauderhill businesses ONLY. Many graduates of prior cohorts mentor and participate with current students to help guide enrollees through the program. 

Program Benefits
Success! We want you to grow and sustain a financially viable business in the City of Lauderhill. Modules are taught by industry experts and City staff (marketing experts, bankers, economic development experts etc.). Live “Questions and Answer” sessions as well as Live Master Classes have been added to the program. 

The course content surpasses any courses offered at universities or business schools. Participant's access to Experienced Business Leaders, Government Officials and City Staff with Real Life Knowledge is unprecedented and priceless.

How to Apply
We are currently accepting names for the next program. Pre-register here

After You Apply
When the next Cohort opens up for registration, you will receive an email from City Staff to complete your registration. Applicants will undergo an intake process to ensure they are a good candidate for the course.
