The Cheetahs are a youth track and field program located in the City of Lauderhill. It is open to children ages 5-18 years old. They practice at West Ken Lark Park (1321 NW 33rd Avenue) Monday through Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. The City hosts the recreation program.
This program focuses on academics and athletics while competing in meets against local, regional, and national competition. All participants must maintain good grades and positive behavior in the classroom and on the track. Participants who do well in the classroom and on the track are eligible for scholarships through the City of Lauderhill's Sports Advancing Kids Education program.
Registration generally starts in November/December. The cost is $100 per child (for Lauderhill residents) and $125 per child (for non-Lauderhill residents). There is a sibling discount of $10 off for each sibling registered at the same time. Please provide a copy of your child's birth certificate and proof of residency. Official practices generally begin in January and meets are normally from February to May. For more information about the program, please contact Marcellus Green by phone at 954-572-1474 or via e-mail.
