STATE REP. ANIKA OMPHROY DONATING 10K MASKS TO LAUDERHILL RESIDENTS; GIVEAWAY ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 11

LAUDERHILL, FL — State Representative Anika Omphroy (District 95), along with the City of Lauderhill, will host a free mask giveaway on Tuesday, August 11th at 8 a.m. at Ilene Lieberman Botanical Park, 3801 Inverrary Blvd., Lauderhill, FL 33319.

State Rep. Omphroy is donating 10,000 reusable face masks to Lauderhill residents. The masks will be distributed on a first come, first served basis in packs of 5. One pack of masks will be placed in the trunk of each car. Residents are asked to remain in their vehicles.

This mask giveaway is one of Rep. Omphroy’s multiple efforts to help residents comply with the recently implemented Broward County mandate to wear face coverings when in public to slow the spread of COVID-19. Distributions within the cities she represents (Lauderdale Lakes, Lauderhill, North Lauderdale, Plantation, Tamarac, Sunrise and Margate) were able to directly provide a total of 90,000 masks to residents. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is also recommending that everyone wear a face covering in public, especially when social distancing is difficult to maintain.
